Casement windows are windows that are hinged at the side of the window like a door with the non-hinged side of the window locking into place. Casement windows can swing inwards or outwards.
The popularity of Casement windows have ebbed and flowed through history. Initially casement windows were superseded by the Sash window and then returned to popularity in the 1930’s. Casement windows were traditionally painted white sometimes the frames of the casement windows were painted black.
